DIY PHOTO FRAME IDEAS

Hi Diva’s,

So I get lots of questions about framing our wall art prints and thought I would write a post about it. There are so many places to get frames and so many unique things you can do when you can’t find the right color frame you are looking for so I wanted to share some tips with you.

There are so many places to get your frames like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. They both also run sales often. Many times they will have a sale on frames and Hobby Lobby runs sales for 50% off and if they aren’t running that sale you can always get their coupon online for 40% off. You can either sign up for their newsletter or when you are in the store, just go on you phone to their website and get the 40% off coupon and show that to the checker.

Michael’s also runs specials for either a percent off or sometimes they have special ads on frames like buy one get one free. You can also sign up for their newsletter or go online when you are in the store and go to their site and pull up the coupon and show to the checker. The percent off varies but you can always check ahead of time before you head out to the store.

Some other great places for frames are Ross, Home Goods, TJ Max, Walmart, Kmart, The Dollar Store and you can also find some great frames in different colors on Amazon, and Etsy is another great place to find frames in lots of colors and styles.

But what happens when you cant find the right color of frame you are looking for or the style? The thrift store is also a great option for frames especially since you can get frames there for cheap. But maybe the color isn’t right for you at the thrift store or the other places you find frames but you love the frame and hate the color.

Don’t worry, the good news is no matter where you find your frames at, it’s super easy to change the color like our customer Monica did. I’ve also done this, found great frames but I hated the color. It’s super easy to just paint the frames in whatever your favorite color is.

As you will see in the before photo Monica had her frames but wanted a different color so she bought some spray paint. She put a couple of coats of paint on her frames and was able to get the colors she wanted. She actually chose colors to enhance our wall art prints and they turned out great as you see in the after photo.

You don’t have to be scared of paint, it really is super easy and takes so little time to do. You spray one coat let it dry for about 30 minutes, spray your next coat and you are done. It’s a fabulous way to either match your home decor colors or like Monica did pick out colors that enhance the wall art prints you bought.

Once you realize that when you shop for frames and don’t like the color, how easy it is to change the color, the opportunities and endless. And you don’t need to be an expert to paint them. Also if you want to get creative you can add some crystals or flowers or whatever you choose to glam it up.

Thanks to Monica for sharing her photos with us. You can find her at her Instagram page @_cameron_monica_
